NNWRF Scratch Dogs

The National Whippet Racing Federation catered for Scratch racing from the very first meeting. This was an all-in No Limit Scratch Championship from 1977 – 1985. In 1986 the introduction of a 40lb Scratch Class. The two classes did not run off to Ch-Ch status until 2006.  A controversial third class of 48lb was introduced in 2008 offering three Scratch Championship titles and a Ch-Ch title runoff. In the same year, the Federation became known as the NNWRF. The first NSCH straight title went to NSCH Angie owned by R Steel in 1977. The Pandemic stopped all NNWRF Championships in 2020. The NNWRF Bend Championships were discontinued after 2021. The last bend Scratch Champion to be crowned was NBSCH Ch-Ch Queen Kate owned by S Bell.
