The British Whippet Racing Association<\/strong> was formed on Saturday 3rd June 1967<\/strong> at a meeting held in the Golden Lion Hotel<\/strong>, Highroad Well, Halifax.<\/p>

Representatives<\/strong> in attendance were North East:<\/strong><\/span> Representatives Mr G Mason (Easington Lane) and Mr T Holloway (Bolden Colliery). North West:<\/strong><\/span> Mr J Marsden (Ulverston). Yorkshire:<\/strong><\/span> Mr G Booth and Mr T Bray; Midlands<\/strong><\/span>: Mr E Coleman (Sedgebrook); South<\/strong><\/span>: Mrs C Francis. Travelling as companions but taking no part in the meeting were Mr & Mrs Mark Allsopp (Midlands<\/strong>) and Mr W Todd (North East<\/strong>)<\/p>

The election of the first officers was taken at this meeting. Chairman Mr E Coleman<\/strong>, Secretary\u00a0 Mr G Mason<\/strong>, Treasurer Mrs M Scott<\/strong> and Registrar Mr G Booth<\/strong>.<\/p>

Membership Fees opened in October 1967<\/strong> to run from December 1968<\/strong>. Clubs paid \u00a31.00<\/strong>, Dog registration 5\/-<\/strong> for life, Personal Membership 5\/-<\/strong> paid annually. Dog transfer 2\/6d<\/strong> in old money.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

The first weight and height restrictions were also agreed upon. 1. Height Limit 21<\/strong> inches<\/strong>. 2. Weight Limit 35lb<\/strong>.
